Southern Pecan Pie

1 lb. of light brown sugar
3/4 cup water, 4 eggs slightly beaten
1/4 cup soft butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell
1 cup pecan halves

Directions:

Combine sugar and water in saucepan.
Cook and stir until sugar dissolves.
Bring to a boil and cook 3 minutes.
Gradually add hot syrup to eggs, stirring constantly.
Add butter and vanilla.
Pour into pie shell.
Arrange pecans on filling.
Bake in moderate oven 350 Degrees F. about one hour or until set.
Cool. Yield: one 9-inch pie.

Here is an easier way to mix the ingredients...

I have made this by putting all the ingredients in the blender (not the crust or the pecans.
Then, stirred in the pecans.
Poured it into the crust and baked it that way.

It was also good, but, these directions are worth following.
